Cycle One started out as a keyboard player in funk & soul covers bands, later collaborating with local DJ's on original house, breakbeat and drum & bass productions.
Working with Planet of Tunes, Cycle One went on to record various drum & bass dubplates, entertaining crowds at the Notting Hill Carnival in the summer of 1997.
As a studio assistant for production duo Dom T and Aidan Love, Cycle One assisted on their remixes of Howie B, Depeche Mode, Björk and Duran Duran, and provided mix-engineer skills for the soundtrack to Alexander McQueen's 1998 fashion show for Balmain.
Next up, assisting a major album project for Sony / Columbia at the prestigious Strongroom Studios, for DJ Rap's 'Learning Curve', Cycle One then worked as a programmer and mix engineer on DJ Rap's Alive & Kicking Mix of single "Good To Be Alive". The single spent 14 weeks on the US Billboard Dance Chart, reaching #5 in July 1999 and featured on the movie soundtracks "Go" and "Rogue Trader".
From an introduction by Planet of Tunes, a series of radio commercials and corporate jingles followed at Jungle Studios (Fanta, Carphone Warehouse) and later for TV productions (Sportsworld Media Group, Chilli Video, Friday TV).
More recent work has included DJ sets, spinning a selection of classic funk, house and breakbeat, and promoting parties at Leeds venues Santiago and The Reform.
Now based in Portsmouth, Cycle One is working on forthcoming releases including a breaks EP and more drum & bass planned for early 2011.
