Storyboards by Matt Ottewill

Storyboards were originally used by film makers to help a producer or director convey their vision to financiers and project team members in a cost-effective manner. They encourage discussion, allow budgets to be precisely set, and help avoid costly mistakes.

In multimedia and web design story boards may be used for a variety of reasons ...

  • To help a director communicate the visual ideas they have for a video or film shoot
  • To plan an animation

Storyboards can be created in computer drawing programs but are more commonly hand-drawn on paper with pencils and marker pens.
